This quarter, we’re excited to highlight the East CrossTown Trail, a beautiful and accessible part of Newcastle’s CrossTown Trail system. Stretching across the city from southeast to northwest, the CrossTown Trail is divided into two main sections: East and West. The East CrossTown Trail is especially notable as it connects to key areas such as the Terrace Trail, 136th Ave, SE 85th St, and the Cougar Mountain trails managed by King County,
This trail is a moderately challenging route, taking about 45 minutes to complete, and it’s perfect for hiking, birding, and walking. It’s a quiet, year-round trail that allows you to immerse yourself in nature, often without encountering many other visitors. Built by dedicated local volunteers, the East CrossTown Trail offers a fantastic woodland experience and is a great way to explore the natural beauty of Newcastle. Whether you’re taking a short stroll or a longer hike, it’s a trail worth discovering!
Newcastle is home to many parks and trails waiting to be explored! Use these maps to discover new places to walk, play, and enjoy the day.
