About Resident Resources

Pet Licensing

The City of Newcastle partners with Regional Animal Services of King County (RASKC) to provide pet licensing and animal control services. Dogs and cats eight weeks or older must be licensed. A license helps pets get home if lost, supports programs like spay and neuter services, and contributes to animal care in the community. Licenses can be obtained online or in person at over 100 locations.

Property Taxes

King County administers property taxes for Newcastle and provides tools to help property owners understand assessments, valuations, and tax relief programs. Programs are available for seniors, people with disabilities, disabled veterans, and those with property damage. Exemptions may also be available for certain home improvements to single-family dwellings.

Severe Weather & Hazards

Newcastle experiences a variety of severe weather, including wind, snow and ice, wildfires, and occasional power outages. Being prepared helps protect families, homes, and the community. Resources include safety guidance, emergency alerts, and city snow and ice response information, along with tips for power outage preparedness and staying safe during storms.

Veterans

The City of Newcastle honors veterans and provides links to local, state, and national resources. Services include financial assistance, housing support, counseling, and mental health programs. King County, Washington State, and U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs programs all work together to help veterans, service members, and their families access benefits and support.
