About City Parks
Newcastle’s parks are open from 7:00 a.m. to dusk and are available for everyone to use and enjoy. Trails are excepted from these hours; they are also available from dusk to 7:00 a.m. Only city-sponsored special events are permitted in city parks. Shelters and amenities are first-come, first-served, except Lake Boren Park shelters, which can be reserved for rental.
Park Rules
To ensure safety and enjoyment for all visitors, the following rules apply to city parks:
- No off leash pets allowed.
- Pets must be on a leash no longer than 8-feet.
- Handlers are responsible for the removal of animal waste.
- The following are prohibited:
- Alcoholic beverages
- Camping
- Disposal of household or commercial waste
- Fireworks
- Vehicles outside of the designated parking lot
- Weapons
