About SeeClickFix
SeeClickFix is the City of Newcastle’s online reporting tool used to submit non-emergency service requests. It allows issues to be sent directly to City staff for review, assignment, and tracking until resolution.
Have questions? The FAQs below walk through how SeeClickFix works and what happens after a request is submitted.
SeeClickFix is used to report routine, non-emergency maintenance or service issues within the City. Common requests include:
- Abandoned debris
- Graffiti or vandalism
- Missing or damaged signs
- Park and trail maintenance
- Potholes
- Storm drain issues
- Vegetation blocking sidewalks
Some issues require other reporting methods:
- Emergency or public safety hazards: Immediate risks such as downed power lines, fallen trees blocking roads, or hazardous materials (e.g., needles) should be reported by calling 911 or the King County Sheriff’s Office non-emergency line at 206-296-3311.
- Noise complaints or criminal activity: Report these directly to the King County Sheriff’s Office by calling 911 for an emergency or the non-emergency line at 206-296-3311.
- Complicated or long-term issues: Concerns requiring planning, community discussion, interdepartmental coordination, or third-party involvement (e.g., zoning changes, traffic studies, or new public amenities) should be directed to the appropriate department by phone or email.
- Ongoing policy questions or suggestions: Input regarding City policy, budget priorities, or future development may be shared by contacting City Hall at 425-649-4444 or by email.
Requests are submitted through the SeeClickFix platform online or through the mobile app. Select a location, choose an issue category, and provide relevant details. Include photos when available and appropriate.
- Each submission is routed to the appropriate staff member for review.
- Staff determine whether the issue is the City’s responsibility, a private property owner’s, or a third party such as a utility provider.
- If the issue is City-maintained, it is assigned to the appropriate team. If not, notification is sent to the responsible party.
- Once action has been taken or responsibility has been transferred and notice issued, the request is closed. Closure does not always indicate immediate resolution, especially in cases involving voluntary compliance or private maintenance.
Requests can be tracked within the SeeClickFix system. Status updates reflect progress through review, assignment, and completion.
Newcastle has a small but dedicated staff of 24 employees across all departments. Unlike larger cities, the City does not have dedicated code enforcement officers. Requests may be handled by a planner, maintenance worker, or administrative staff member depending on the issue.
Please note that SeeClickFix is not monitored 24/7. For urgent issues during business hours, City Hall may be contacted at 425-649-4444. Outside of business hours, or for public safety concerns, call the King County Sheriff’s Office non-emergency line at 206-296-3311. Public Works staff are notified if needed.
A “Closed” status does not always mean the issue is fully resolved. It typically indicates that City staff have reviewed the request, determined who is responsible (e.g. a private property owner or utility), and taken the appropriate action, such as issuing a notice or referral. Staff close the request because active tracking is no longer required.
Yes. Requests may be submitted without creating an account. Providing contact information allows staff to follow up if more details are needed.
To help staff respond quickly, please include a detailed address or location, a clear description of the issue, and a photo if possible. The more information provided, the easier it is for staff to investigate and respond.
No. The City of Newcastle funds SeeClickFix as part of its commitment to accessible and responsive government.
SeeClickFix is one of the City’s most-used community tools. In 2025, the City received 682 requests, ranging from graffiti cleanup to drainage concerns. These submissions help staff prioritize and address needs throughout the City.
Code enforcement and maintenance can take time. While the City strives to respond quickly, many issues involve property owner cooperation, contractor schedules, or staff availability. Newcastle appreciates the community’s understanding and continued partnership in keeping the City safe and well-maintained.
