Welcome to the City of Newcastle!
Thank you for your interest in working for the City of Newcastle!
We’re a small but growing organization with big goals, a clear vision, and a strong commitment to public service.
In Newcastle, collaboration matters. We value transparency, open government, and thoughtful problem-solving. Our staff members are trusted to bring ideas forward, work across departments, and make a real impact in the community we serve.
If you’re a hands-on professional who enjoys solving problems, building relationships, and contributing to a city that’s actively shaping its future, you’ll feel right at home here.
Required Forms & New Employee Paperwork
The City of Newcastle is a paperless organization. Prior to your first day of work, Human Resources will send all required onboarding forms electronically via JotForm.
If you prefer paper copies, accommodations can be made—just let Human Resources know and we’re happy to help.
Benefits & Additional Information
We understand that potential employees want clear and transparent information about their prospective workplace. To support that, benefits information and commonly referenced forms are available in the City’s Document Center:

Background Checks & Driving Records
The City of Newcastle follows Washington State law regarding background checks.
- Background checks are conducted only after a conditional offer of employment is accepted
- Background checks are never conducted without the candidate’s consent
- For positions that require driving a City vehicle, a Washington State Department of Licensing (DOL) driving record check will also be completed
The City uses Alliance 2020 to conduct background and driving record checks.
