Newcastle Days 5K logo

Newcastle Days is canceled this year, but we’re hoping you’ll still celebrate with your community this September by participating in the Newcastle Days Virtual 5K Run/Walk benefitting the Alzheimer’s Association. You can participate in this community event wherever you are! A minimum donation of $10 comes with a free commemorative T-shirt and all donations will go toward supporting the Alzheimer’s Association. This event is sponsored by the City of Newcastle, Aegis Gardens and Waste Management. Click on the arrows below to view the full race details and registration instructions.

RACE DETAILS

1.) The minimum suggested fee is $10, though you can go above and beyond that knowing your donation goes to the Alzheimer’s Association. Follow the step-by-step outline under registration instructions to donate and register. The Newcastle Days Virtual 5K T-shirt is sponsored by Waste Management. Thanks to WM, your race registration donation will all go directly toward supporting the Alzheimer’s Association.

2.) Participants who sign up and donate at least $10 by September 8 will receive a free T-shirt sponsored by Waste Management. Those who register after that date are not guaranteed a T-shirt.

3.) On September 12, pick up your T-shirt at Newcastle City Hall (12835 Newcastle Way, Newcastle, WA) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Drive up to the City Hall entrance and volunteers will run your T-shirt(s) out to your car! PLEASE NOTE THE VENUE CHANGE DUE TO POOR AIR QUALITY.

4.) Once you have your T-shirt, you can get out and do your virtual 5K at any time where ever you are. However, we encourage you to put your T-shirt on and try to do it on the weekends of Sept. 19-20 or Sept. 26-27, that way we’re all out as a community at once, walking together in our own neighborhoods.

5.) Take your own routes or use one of the suggested ones below. Please remember to maintain 6 feet from others as you participate, and bring a mask if you feel you cannot maintain a safe distance.

6.) Get social! Put on your T-shirt and send us pictures and videos of yourself completing your 5K. Use the #NewcastleDays5K on social media or email your pictures to [email protected].
