BELLEVUE, Wash. (Dec. 20, 2024) – Puget Sound Energy (PSE) is urging customers to prepare for potential outages as back-to-back storms are expected on Dec. 23 and 25.

Saturday morning winds may cause localized outages, with more severe storms forecasted for late Monday and Wednesday. Monday’s easterly winds could impact Cascade foothill communities like Enumclaw and North Bend, while Wednesday’s storm brings widespread southerly gusts.

PSE is securing extra crews and supplies to restore power as quickly and safely as possible. Restoration efforts may take 24-48 hours for estimated restoration times and longer for full recovery across PSE’s service area, which covers 6,000 square miles and 1.2 million electric customers.

Preparation Tips

  • Assemble an emergency kit with essentials like flashlights, batteries, and food.
  • Limit fridge and freezer use to keep food cold.
  • Avoid using gas grills or charcoal indoors.
  • Stay 35 feet from downed power lines and report them to PSE or 911.
