April is Earth Month in Newcastle and around the globe, and we have several events and programs planned to help you celebrate.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
Join us on April 8 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for the Spring Recycling Event at Hazelwood Elementary School.
Learn what to bring, what not to bring, and more.
Compost
How do you compost? Do you have a great compost bin? Send us photos and share some tips! You can pick up a free composting bin at Newcastle City Hall. Kids can test their knowledge with this
interactive game.
Reduce Emissions
Take a
self-led scavenger hunt along May Creek Trail on April 23. Use your ORCA card and take the bus there! Youth ride free.
Protect Our Waterways
Help turn Newcastle BLUE!
Adopt a drain and give it a fun name.
Keep It Clean, Keep It Green
Volunteer to
clean up the historic Newcastle Cemetery on April 22 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., then join us for the City's Arbor Day celebration at China Creek Park on April 26 at 2:00 p.m.
Send photos of your participation in the above events to [email protected], and we'll share your adventures on social media!
