Following state approval to move forward with a modified Phase 1 reopening in King County, the City of Newcastle is reopening sports courts in our parks. That means basketball, tennis and volleyball courts are now open for public use!
We’re excited to be able to offer these amenities again, but please stay vigilant and continue to follow state guidelines to limit the spread of COVID-19. A few reminders:
— Stay home when you are sick and avoid close contact with others
— Limit your gatherings to no more than 5 people outside of your household
— To avoid congregating, please leave courts as soon as you finish your game
The bathrooms at Lake Boren Park will reopen as well. However, our staff wants to give them a thorough cleaning first. We’ll let you know when they’re back in service, likely next week.
Our playgrounds and picnic shelters remain closed to help limit the spread of COVID-19. We’ll keep you updated as we continue to follow the county’s plan for a safe reopening. Thanks for your patience!
