Put on your costume, hop in the car, and join the City of Newcastle for some socially-distanced Halloween fun on Saturday, October 31. Boocastle returns for its second year, but due to limits on gatherings, it will look a little different in 2020.
Newcastle residents are invited to participate in drive-thru trick-or-treating in the Lake Boren parking lot from 12-3 p.m. on Halloween. Simply drive up in your car and our volunteers will distribute a FREE goodie bag filled with candy, cloth face masks and other special giveaways to every costumed child in your vehicle!
“Halloween may look a little bit different this year, but the City of Newcastle wants to do our part to bring a smile to every little trick-or-treaters’ face,” said Newcastle Community Engagement Coordinator Christina Corrales-Toy. “We can’t wait to see your costumes and celebrate a safe, socially-distanced Halloween with you!”
Newcastle residents only. Attendees must stay in their car and are encouraged to wear masks. One bag per child. We’re expecting a large crowd on the day of the event, so please pack your patience. Goodie bags will be available while supplies last. Regular park users should avoid the Lake Boren parking lot during the event and instead park on the street. Volunteers will wear masks and gloves and employ other safe practices as we assemble and hand out goodie bags.
This event is produced by the City of Newcastle, the volunteer Community Activities Commission, and the Newcastle Police Department with funding from Waste Management and 4Culture.
