A total of 23 businesses were approved for emergency funding through the City of Newcastle’s Small Business Rapid Relief Program. The City allocated a portion of our federal CARES funding to support our local businesses. That, combined with a $20,000 grant from King County, allowed the City to distribute $195,000 worth of grants to our community.
“The City of Newcastle is committed to supporting its small business community and facilitating a successful recovery from the impacts inflicted by the COVID-19 public health emergency,” said City Manager Rob Wyman. “We’re so grateful for the opportunity to serve and assist our businesses.”
The City partnered with the Newcastle Chamber of Commerce to help administer the process. All eligible businesses that applied received an award. Congratulations to the following grant recipients:
