SUMMARY:Fall Recycling Collection
DESCRIPTION:Twice a year\, the City hosts this grant-funded recycling event to help community members conveniently recycle hard-to-recycle items that don’t go in the curbside bin. \n\n\n\nNo vehicles may enter after 3:00 pm. Please be prepared to pay exact change (cash only) at entrance for any user fees. No flatbed or dump trucks allowed. Event staff reserves the right to refuse oversized\, commercial\, contaminated\, excessive\, or unacceptable loads. \n\n\n\nOnly the following items will be accepted: \n\n\n\nTires: Limit 6 passenger tires per household (18″ and below) free of charge. $3 for extra tires off the rim. $6 for each passenger tire on rim. No large truck or oversized tires accepted. \n\n\n\nLead Acid Batteries: Car\, truck\, marine\, motorcycle\, and sealed lead acid batteries.  \n\n\n\nAlkaline Batteries: AAAA\, AAA\, AA\, A\, B\, C\, and D cell alkaline batteries. No rechargeable\, cell phone\, lithium-ion\, or nicad batteries accepted. Visit batterynetwork.org for more battery recycling options. \n\n\n\nConfidential Document Shredding: Shredding and recycling of confidential paper materials\, limit 4 file-size boxes or 5 bags. \n\n\n\nStyrofoam Blocks and Packing Peanuts: White Styrofoam blocks and packing peanuts (any color). All materials must be clean and dry. Expanded polystyrene only. (Look for the #6 or EPS inside the recycling symbol.) Keep packing peanuts in box or bag. No urethane foam cushions\, hot tub covers\, expanded polypropylene\, or foam insulation. \n\n\n\nElectronic/Computer Equipment: DVD players\, VCRs\, stereo equipment\, fax machines\, scanners\, cellular phones\, computers and computer monitors\, mouse\, keyboards\, tablet computers\, and e-readers. Remove all personal information. Printers and copiers $5 each. \n\n\n\nTelevision Sets: TV sets encased in plastic or wood\, wood console\, and big-screen TVs. \n\n\n\nPropane Tanks: Residential tanks only. $10 for 5-gallon and $2 for one-gallon.  \n\n\n\nPorcelain Toilets and Sinks: Toilet seats\, hardware\, and base wax rings must be removed. $25 each.  \n\n\n\nAppliances and Scrap Metal: Household appliances\, auto parts\, engines\, gas lawnmowers (drained of oil and gasoline)\, metal lawn chairs\, stoves\, barbecues\, iron\, steel\, aluminum\, brass\, copper\, and other ferrous and nonferrous metals. For water heaters with insulation\, $5 each. Metals that are insulated\, rubber- or oil-coated\, previously/currently contain chemicals\, paint\, or hazardous materials will not be accepted. No light fixture ballasts or sealed drums accepted. Any item that contains gas or oil will be rejected. \n\n\n\nRefrigerators/Freezers and Air Conditioners: $35 each. \n\n\n\nMattresses/Box Springs: Any size mattress or box spring. $35 each. Vendor reserves the right to refuse any item it cannot recycle. No furniture or frames. No wet or soiled items. PLEASE DO NOT BRING: These household wastes…CARDBOARD\, clothing\, construction/demolition debris\, furniture and other home goods\, garbage\, plastic toys/hoses\, scrap wood\, window glass\, or yard debris. \n\n\n\nOr these hazardous wastes…household chemicals\, motor oil\, filters\, antifreeze\, oil-/latex-based paint\, pesticides/herbicides\, solvents\, or thinners. Household and hazardous wastes can be taken to the Factoria Recycling & Transfer Station. Please note that latex paint is not accepted. See paintcare.org/wa for information on latex paint recycling.
