Construction work on Northeast 44th Street and northbound I-405 off-ramp July 28-31
A message from WSDOT:
Construction crews will be working on excavation for fish culvert installation and regrading work on Northeast 44th Street beginning 10 p.m. Friday, July 28 until 4:30 a.m. Monday, July 31 as part of the I-405/Renton to Bellevue Widening and Express Toll Lanes Project. This work will require Northeast 44th Street and the northbound I-405 44th Street off-ramp (Exit 7) to be closed during this time. Signed detour routes will be in place.
Travelers to the west of the freeway wanting to access northbound I-405 at Northeast 44th Street will drive south on Lake Washington Boulevard and use the North 30th Street on-ramp to northbound I-405.
Travelers to the east of the freeway wanting to access southbound I-405 at Northeast 44th Street will drive north on 116th Avenue Southeast, turn left onto Southeast 76th Street, and use the roundabout to access northbound I-405. They will continue to travel north until they exit at 112th Avenue Southeast/Lake Washington Boulevard Southeast (Exit 9) and go west to access the southbound I-405 on-ramp.
Residents who live to the east of I-405 off Northeast 44th Street will have to exit at 112th Avenue Southeast/Lake Washington Boulevard Southeast (Exit 9) and drive south on 116th Avenue Southeast via Lake Washington Boulevard Southeast to access their neighborhood.
Please plan extra time for your travel in this area during the time of this work. The City of Renton has been made aware of and has approved this work to be completed at this scheduled time.
