Every September, Newcastle residents gather at Lake Boren Park for a memorable community festival packed with food, music, games and activities for all. But what exactly are we celebrating? Well, Newcastle Days falls in September for a very good reason — that’s the month in 1994 that Newcastle officially became a City. Newcastle Days is a chance for our citizens to come together, honor our past and celebrate the spirit of community that shapes us today and into the future.

Join us Saturday, September 9, for this year's main event!

children line up to play on giant inflatables
There will be tons of fun, family-friendly activities throughout the day at Newcastle Days on Saturday, September 9th. For animal lovers, pony rides are returning and will provide rides to kids of all ages. The petting zoo will also be back and will bring your barnyard favorites – goats, chickens, rabbits, and more – for visitors of all ages to interact with and learn about.

Kids will love the giant inflatables between noon and 5 p.m., where they can enjoy an inflatable slide, obstacle course, bounce areas, and more.

Discover the junk chime, a large, portable, musical sculpture made from recycled metal objects, hanging on a wheeled superstructure. Perhaps you’ll discover a budding musician in your kiddos! Next, check out high school robotics under the upper covered picnic area. FIRST Robotics creates leaders and innovators in STEM.

The Boy Scouts will have games for all ages to enjoy, and youngsters always get a kick out of exploring Newcastle’s Public Works vehicles stationed throughout the park.

Don’t forget to stop by the lower covered picnic area for arts and crafts with the Newcastle Arts Council.

Throughout the day, many vendors will have fun games and prizes for the whole family at their booths!
