Residents should be aware of a King County project on Coal Creek Parkway between Bellevue and Newcastle that could cause impacts for the next couple of weeks. From King County:

Motorists and cyclists using Coal Creek Parkway between Bellevue and Newcastle should expect temporary traffic impacts beginning the week of July 8. While construction on the Coal Creek Trunk sewer upgrade isn’t expected to begin until 2022, crews must begin to prepare the area.

Work will occur 7 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, July 15-26.

Southbound, Coal Creek Parkway will be reduced to one lane around the work area. Motorists and bicyclists may experience delays. During the project, people should expect equipment in the roadway and noise from equipment, which may be parked on the shoulder overnight when not in use. Drivers are asked to drive slowly, follow posted signs and watch for pedestrians, bicyclists and workers.

King County will post regular project updates at www.kingcounty.gov/CoalCreekSewer. People can learn more about the project and provide input at an online open house, accessed on the project Web page.
