Children & Families

Family Watercolor Night
Thursday, June 20, 7pm
Presented by Newcastle Arts Council.
Family program, all ages welcome with adult. Get together with other neighborhood families and watercolor.  Bring your own supplies or use the basic watercolor supplies provided.

Toddler Story Time
Monday, June 24, 10:15am and 11:30am
Ages 1 to 3 with adult, siblings are welcome. Stories, songs and fun! Social time follows. Space is limited.

Ponte El Ritmo: The Big Bang Show

Wednesday, June 26, 11am
Presented by Elspeth Savani and Jeff Busch.
Family program, all ages welcome with adult.  People around the world celebrate the moon, sun and stars with music. Learn simple tunes in Spanish and Portuguese and clap, play and dance along.

Teens

Study Zone
Tuesday, June 4 and 11, 6:30pm
Grades K-12. Drop in for free homework help from trained volunteer tutors.

Kerbal Space Program Club
Wednesday, June 5, 6pm
Ages 10 to 17. Join fans of rockets, space travel and explosions in playing the award-winning computer game Kerbal Space Program! Use one of our laptops or bring your own if you already play. Space is limited.

Newcastle Youth for Community Engagement (NYCE)
Wednesday, June 19, 6:30pm
For middle and high school ages. Help the Newcastle Library and the City of Newcastle create the programs, services and events you want to see! Munch on snacks while you make a difference!

Newcastle Library Summer Reading Bookmark Contest
June 22–August 17
Get creative and enter to win the Newcastle Library Summer Reading Bookmark Contest and a gift card! Pick up an entry form at the Newcastle Library and show your idea of what that means. All entries become property of Newcastle Library and will not be returned.  Turn in your entries to the Newcastle Library Information Desk by Saturday, August 17.  Winners will be contacted by phone on Wednesday, August 21.
