MOD Pizza Opens its Doors in Newcastle
Posted on 12/10/2018

The Newcastle MOD Pizza officially opened its doors to the public with an afternoon ribbon cutting on Monday. A line of customers snaked around the building as they awaited the grand opening for the artisan-style pizza chain.

Jennifer Ulrich, the general manager at the new location, had the honor of cutting the ribbon and thanking the crowd for welcoming MOD to the neighborhood.

“I’m so excited to be a part of this community,” she said, before cutting the ribbon and inviting the customers in to the restaurant.

The proceeds from all pizza sales on Monday, Dec. 10, were donated to Vision House, a local nonprofit that fights to help break the cycle of homelessness for families.

“Spend $20 and you get one individual off the streets and into safe housing. So, eat lots of pizza today,” Vision House Executive Director Melissa Gehrig said.

The Newcastle MOD Pizza (13156 Newcastle Commons Drive) is the latest new business to open at The Shops at Newcastle Commons. A drive-thru Starbucks opened earlier this year, followed by a BECU. AJI Sushi & Grill and an Overlake Medical Center Clinic are also coming to the shopping center.
