This weekend is going to be a scorcher, Newcastle. The heat up begins today, with an expected high of 79. On Saturday, that's expected to climb to 85. The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat watch for Sunday, when temps are expected to hit the mid-90s.

These hot conditions could significantly increase the potential for heat-related illnesses, particularly for those who are sensitive to heat. So please, take precautions to keep yourself safe! Drink plenty of fluids, dress for the weather and limit your time outdoors. NEVER leave pets or children in a hot car, and don't hesitate to call 911 if you witness that situation.

Stay safe this weekend, Newcastle. For more heat-related safety tips, view this blog post courtesy of King County Emergency Management.
