Newcastle Food Drive: Help Fill Boxes for Families in Need

Dec. 11, 2019 UPDATE: Special delivery from the Coal Creek Family YMCA (pictured here). Thanks to the generous contributions from the Y, we've hit (and exceeded‼) our goal to fill five boxes for the Newcastle community food drive. We're not done yet, though! Continue to bring your donations of non-perishable food to Newcastle City Hall through Dec. 17!

Dec. 10, 2019 UPDATE
: Two boxes down, three to go. We need your help, Newcastle! Our goal is to pack a minimum of five boxes for our community food drive. We've got just a week left.

You can make a difference for families in need in the Newcastle area this holiday season! Join the cause and support the City of Newcastle's community food drive benefiting Northwest Harvest. Northwest Harvest requests shelf-stable foods that are low in sodium, sugar, and saturated fats.

Bring donations of non-perishable foods to the collection box located on the first-floor lobby at Newcastle City Hall (12835 Newcastle Way) through Dec. 17. The doors will remain open to the public from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Our goal is fill a minimum of five boxes to support our community! If you have any questions, please contact


General food items:
• Canned protein (tuna, chicken, beans)
• Peanut butter (plastic jars are preferred)
• Canned fruit (low sugar)
• Canned vegetables (low sodium)
• Rice (white or brown)
• Whole grain pastas
• Boxed or canned meals with low salt, sugar, and saturated fats
• Shelf-stable milk or dairy alternative

Infant and baby foods:
• Baby formula or canned milk
• Baby food
• Infant cereal
