The City of Newcastle’s 2017 Concerts in the Park lineup features a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, a mix of pop and country performers and a tribute to the Eagles. All concerts go from 7-8:30 p.m. at Lake Boren Park.

The summer concert series kicks off with a bang as legendary Yes drummer Alan White takes the Lake Boren Park stage with his band White on July 19. The recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and his band will entertain with progressive rock and soulful vocals, including some of White’s memorable material with Yes and John Lennon.

Alan White, a Newcastle resident, is considered by many to be one of the greatest rock drummers of all-time. With forty-plus years of performance experience and appearances on over fifty albums, his's dossier reads like a who's-who of rock legends.

Resonate Brewery + Pizzeria will be selling pizza at the July 19 Concert in the Park featuring Alan White. The restaurant will offer a choice of four whole pies and will have a booth at Lake Boren Park to take orders and process payments for the pizza. A Resonate driver will be delivering pizzas to the park all evening starting at 6 p.m. You can also phone in your order ahead of time (425-644-3164) and pick it up at the park. Credit Cards will be accepted.

Tastyz will also be quenching thirsts with shaved ice and selling their famous kettle corn.

Shaggy Sweet brings its blend of original and cover songs to Newcastle on July 26. The band specializes in pop/rock music and delivers great energy as the group covers everything from The Beatles and Jimi Hendrix to John Mayer and Michael Jackson.

On Aug. 2, musician Aaron Crawford will pull you into a good time with his mix of pop/country music. Raised in the hotbed music scene of Seattle, Crawford has a sound that blends his original influences, from church music to Johnny Cash, all the way to U2.

The four-part concert series wraps up on Aug. 9 with the Kings of Hollywood — A Tribute to the Eagles. The group offers a faithful representation of Eagles hits through the decades, focusing on the vocal harmony that defines this supergroup.
