Energize Eastside Updates

March 1, 2018: The final Energize Eastside Environmental Impact Statement was published today. The EIS is not a permit - it is one of many sets of information permitting agencies will consider as they decide whether to approve the project and issue necessary permits. View the final EIS at energizeeastsideeis.org.

Feb. 16, 2018: The City of Newcastle has issued a notice of application regarding the Energize Eastside transmission line project. A 30-day period to comment on the land use application permits is now open. Submitting comments within this period establishes a property owner as a party of record and ensures the right of persons commenting to receive notice of hearings, to receive copies of decisions once made, and appeal rights. Comments under these provisions must be submitted by the comment period ending date (5 p.m. March 19) to: Thara Johnson, Senior Planner, City of Newcastle, 12835 Newcastle Way Suite 200, Newcastle, WA 98056. View the full notice of application here.
