Children & Families

Infant Story Times
Wednesday, November 1, 8, 15 and 29, 10:15am
Newborn to 12 months with adult. Stories, songs and fun! Play time with shakers, blocks and bubbles takes place right after Story Time. 

Preschool Story Times
Wednesday, November 1, 8, 15 and 29, 11:30am
Ages 3 to 5 with adult. Stories, songs and fun! Play time with a parachute, blocks and bubbles takes place right after Story Time!

Japanese Story Times
Thursday, November 2, 9, 16 and 30, 10:30am
Family program, all ages welcome with adult. Stories, songs and fun!

Toddler Story Times
Monday, November 6, 13, 20 and 27, 10:15am and 11:30am
Ages 1 to 3 with adult. Stories, songs and fun! Play time with a parachute, blocks, toys and bubbles takes place right after Story Time.

Play & Learn-Chinese
Tuesday, November 7, 14 and 28, 10:30am
Newborn to age 5 with caregiver. Have fun singing songs, sharing books and stories, creating art and playing. This program is conducted primarily in Chinese but the facilitator is a bilingual English/Chinese speaker.

Tuesday, November 7, 14, 21 and 28, 4pm
Grades K-12. Drop in for free homework help from trained volunteer tutors.

IdeaX: Kerbal Space Program Club
Wednesday, November 1, 6pm
Ages 10 to 17. Join fans of rockets, space travel, and explosions in playing the award-winning computer game Kerbal Space Program! Use one of the libraries laptops or bring your own if you already play. Space is limited. First come, first served.

Newcastle Youth Community Engagement (NYCE)
Wednesday, November 15, 6:30pm. Held at Newcastle City Hall, 12835 Newcastle Way #200, Newcastle, WA 98056.
Attention middle and high school students! Volunteer and join Newcastle Youth Community Engagement (NYCE) to help the Newcastle Library and the City of Newcastle create the programs, services, and events you want to see! Munch on snacks and have fun while you make a difference!

Talk Time Classes
Tuesday, November 7, 14, 21 and 28, 7pm
Practice speaking English with other English language learners. Learn about American culture and meet people from around the world. Classes are free, join anytime.

Protect Yourself from Fraud and Identity Theft
Thursday, November 9, 1pm
Con artists don't care how hard you've worked; they steal billions from Americans like you every year. We're fighting back with the AARP Fraud Watch Network to discuss fraud and identity theft. Join us as we explore how scammers think, how to safeguard against identity theft and fraud, and what to do if you or someone you know has been a victim.

Newcastle Genealogy Meet-Up
Friday, November 10, 10:30am-12:30pm
Amateurs, experts and drop-ins welcome. Have a passion for family history? Just getting started with your family tree? Want an opportunity to share your stories, swap strategies, and network with other genealogy enthusiasts? Bring your stories, your research, and your questions. An experienced genealogist facilitates each meeting. Family Tree Maker software is used for demonstrations, but not a requirement for participation.
